Little Wold Vineyard Wedding - Melissa and Cameron

Little Wold Vineyard Wedding

A Rainy Day Wedding Full of Warmth at Little Wold Vineyard, South Cave

Little Wold Vineyard in South Cave has a calm, intimate feel that really suits thoughtful, people first wedding days. Melissa and Cameron’s wedding here proved that even the wettest weather can’t dull the atmosphere when a day is built around connection, shared values and the people who matter most.

We knew Melissa and Cameron well going into the day, having spent time together earlier in the year on a pre-wedding shoot at Little Wold Vineyard, sharing stories and a cheese board. That time together made everything feel easy from the outset and it meant the wedding day itself felt like catching up with friends rather than meeting for the first time.

A Rainy Start at Cave Castle

Getting ready took place just down the road at Cave Castle. The rain arrived just as we did and didn’t really let up all day but it didn’t change the mood in the slightest.

Inside, everything felt warm and unhurried. There was a quiet excitement in the rooms, the kind that comes from knowing the day ahead is about far more than the weather outside.

Back at Little Wold Vineyard

Arriving back at Little Wold Vineyard felt like a homecoming of sorts. We’ve photographed weddings here before, so it was lovely to return and see familiar faces, both among the team and suppliers and to settle straight into a space we know works so well for relaxed wedding days.

Even with the rain falling steadily outside, the vineyard felt welcoming and calm, the kind of place that naturally draws people together and keeps the atmosphere warm throughout the day.

A Ceremony Shaped by Words

The ceremony at Little Wold Vineyard was deeply personal, with Melissa and Cameron choosing to share their own personal vows. Beautifully written and delivered, these moments brought a real sense of intimacy to the ceremony and added an extra layer of meaning to the day.

Shooting both photo and video meant we could capture not just how these moments looked, but how they sounded too, voices, pauses, emotion all of which gave direction and depth to the final film in a way that felt completely true to them.

Thoughtful Details and a Love of Books

Melissa’s love of books and literature, something Cameron now very much shares, was woven throughout the day. Handmade details made from book pages appeared across the décor, adding character and personal meaning without ever feeling styled for the sake of it.

One standout feature was a book wall, which became the backdrop for a small, informal photo spot. Between the wedding breakfast and the evening celebrations, we used it to photograph small groups of guests, a relaxed way to capture people together without pulling them away from the flow of the day.

Making Space When the Weather Turns

For the main family group photos, a clear plan made all the difference. Working alongside Elaine, the wedding coordinator, chairs were quickly moved from the ceremony room and we created a warm, dry space using a couple of studio lights. It meant family photos could happen calmly and comfortably, without anyone feeling rushed or disrupted by the rain.

Later on, Melissa and Cameron were more than happy to brave a quick run outside with umbrellas. It didn’t last long, but it gave them a quiet moment together a chance to breathe, laugh and let the day sink in.

Speeches, Stories and a Perfectly Timed Rainy Day

Speeches took place between courses and added another layer to the storytelling of the day. Both dads spoke, along with Cameron, weaving in stories about the couple, their shared love of books and their journey together.

One moment stood out in particular Cameron talking about one of the questions they’d asked each other when they first met online: what do you like to do on a rainy day? Given the weather outside, it couldn’t have been more fitting and it added a quietly perfect thread to the final film.

Ceilidh Dancing, Sparklers and Fireworks

The evening celebrations kicked off with a ceilidh dance, which suited the venue and the crowd perfectly. It brought everyone together, filled the room with energy and created endless moments on both photo and video.

The day finished with sparklers and fireworks, rain still falling, but entirely unnoticed. If anything, the weather only added to the warmth inside and from speaking to Melissa, Cameron and their families afterwards, none of them would have changed a thing.

A day shaped by words, connection and the joy of two families coming together proof that even the darkest skies can hold the brightest moments.
